This couple have to be worth an honourable mention in this year’s Darwin Awards. To quote from the article:
Two Star Wars fans are in a critical condition in hospital after apparently trying to make light sabres by filling fluorescent light tubes with petrol. A man, aged 20, and a girl of 17 are believed to have been filming a mock duel when they poured fuel into two glass tubes and lit it.
Of course, you shouldn’t laugh …

My friend suggested that the police use the video footage to make an accident prevention advert about the little-known dangers of filling fragile glass tubes with fuel, lighting them and staging light-sabre battles. There’d be a nice poetry to it if they got the original Green Cross Code man to present the video, since he was played by David Prowse, AKA the body of Darth Vader in the first three films.
